With her Bachelor and Masters in Textile design Mitali has a fine understanding and experience of working with fabric. She currently lives and works from Bengaluru.

Her paintings beautifully carry the image aesthetics of both the design motifs used in textiles and her own experience of painting, the two beautifully come together to give a fairy tale-like imagery.
