Founder IGA Studios

Over the past decade Indranil Garai and Associates have been working conscientiously in the direction of making art accessible to all equally and reformulating ideas of art in relationship to landscape and nature. The driving force behind this Organization, Indranil Garai has been a believer that art is for the masses and that it transcends beyond the illusion of order and materiality thus blurring the distinction between indoors and outdoors. 

An alumnus of Vishwa Bharati University, Shantiniketan, Indranil is also presently the Joint Director of the Pune Biennale Foundation which has been playing a very important role in bringing about an aesthetic transformation of the city of Pune by way of multiple projects that visually enrich public spaces .  He is also a member of the IIID (Indian Institute of Interior Design), Pune Regional Chapter and has been listed amongst the Who's Who of Pune in the art and design category. He is a popular visiting faculty at many architectural and business schools such as Symbiosis Business School Pune. 

His contribution in the field of Architectural Sculpture has been recognized by a number of institutions both in India and abroad.  He has also been the recipient of a number of awards and accolades. He was awarded Man of the Year in 2004 by American Biographical Institute North Carolina. He is also the recipient of the International Scholarship of Sculpture by Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation, Canada and also the National Scholarship for Sculpture by Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Govt. of India.

Payal Garai

Associate

IGA Landscape Pottery

Considered to be one of the finest potters in the city, Payal Garai is the Principle Designer of Landscape Pottery for IGA. Working with several mediums like Ceramic, Concrete, Stone and FRP making aesthetic, unique, individually crafted compositions in landscape pots, water features and lamps, she also practices studio pottery from her workshop in Pune.

Specializing in ceramics, she completed her B.F.A from Visva Bharati, Shantiniketan and subsequently apprenticed under the pioneer potter Mrs. Nirmala Patwardhan in Pune. She has also trained under stalwarts such as Mansimran Singh in Ambretta and under Ray Meekar and Deborah Smith in Pondicherry.

Amongst the several national and international recognitions, she has been the recipient of the Woman of the Year Award by the American Biographical Institute, North Carolina, USA, for outstanding achievement in the field of pottery and the Garhi Art Scholarship by the Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi for her work in ceramics. Listed amongst the Who’s Who of Pune in the art and design category, she has made a significant contribution in her chosen field.
 

Chiranjib Ghosh

Chiranjib Ghosh, a Masters in Fine Arts from Vishwa Bharati, Shantiniketan is in charge for the operations of the IGA studio in Bangalore. As an Associate to the Company, he oversees the timely and successful executions of all our projects in Southern India.

Credited with the Vishwa Bharati Merit Scholarship, Chiranjib Ghosh has several recognitions to his credit. He is the recipient of the Lalit Kala State Academy Award and the National Scholarship rendered by the Ministry of Human Resource, Government of India.

A specialized sculptor, his work in the group exhibitions such as the “All India Annual Exhibition” organized by the Lalit Kala Academy and the “Tradition and Modernity in Bengal” exhibition organized by the Birla Academy of Art and Culture in Bangalore and Mumbai have been greatly appreciated. He has also been a participant in the “Sculptors Workshop” organized by the Bengal Ambuja Housing Development Ltd, Kolkata.

Sumit Roy

Studio Associate

Sculptures, calligraphy, graphic art, paintings, murals etc are all canvases on which Sumit Roy translates his art. Having completed his Bachelors in Fine Arts in Sculpture from Vishwa Bharati, he went on to get his Masters Degree in Sculpture from the College of Art in Delhi.

He has been a part of several prestigious projects such as designing murals for the Delhi Metro Rail, Bardhaman Mansik Arogoniketan, D.P.S, Vasundhara Ghaziabad and was also a part of the Metropolitan Building Restoration in an initiative taken by Caltech India. He has also extended his creativity to designing the portraits of puppets for the puppet show by N.D.T.V called Gustakhimaf.

In his career spanning almost a decade, Sumit Roy has been a part of a number of art camps, workshops and exhibitions such as the art camp organized by the Birbhum District Literature Development organization, the Camlin workshop held in Kala Bhavan, Artist camp held in Khajuraho and the Yuva Utsav held in Delhi to name a few. He has also been a part of the Annual Exhibitions held at Kala Bhavan, IFACS, the College of Art in New Delhi and the Yuva Utsav exhibition organized by the Sahitya Kala Parishad.

Zahabiya Hamid is a Pune based computer graduate. Her expertise lie in her skills in management and meticulous planning of operations. She is responsible for bringing together artist portfolios that are showcased through our exhibitions and events.

 

She along with her team seamlessly manages master planning multi-layered activities and coordination between vendors, participants and our esteemed clients.
